Community Events

In 2009, more than 40 community groups hosted fundraising events that benefited Children's. These events raised $1,000,000 to support specialty areas including: the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, Children's Medical Center at Legacy, The Heart Center, summer camps and many more.

What started out as a geometry project turned into a generous $10,000 gift from the New Tech High School in Coppell. The students created a beautiful quilt utilizing what they learned in class from their teacher, Mrs. Osterberger. The quilt sold at the school’s fundraising event and a portion of the gift is supporting Crohn’s research, a disease that touched the life of a classmate and Children's patient.
