Help Keep Kids Out of the Hospital
Unintentional injury sends thousands of children and adolescents seeking emergency medical care each day. However, up to 90% of these injuries are preventable. With proper education, improvements to the environment, enforcement of certain safety legislation and regulations, and community involvement, many injuries can be prevented.
The Injury Prevention program at Children’s works within the walls of our hospital and outside in our communities to keep our kids safe. Your gifts allow our specialists to work with at-risk neighborhoods, teaching everything from drowning prevention and correct car seat installation to how to safely cross the street.
Pictured above are 100 flip-flops, one for every child treated at Children’s in 2009 for a drowning or near-drowning. Your donation provides outreach and education to families to help keep North Texas' kids safe.
